11239NAT Advanced Diploma of Christian Ministry & Theology
The Advanced Diploma of Christian Ministry & Theology (11239NAT) is stage 3 of VBC training and takes 1 year to complete as a full time learner (2 x 19 week training blocks with mid and end of training block breaks).
The study load each week is approximately 35 hours. During this time, learners will complete a range of supervised and unsupervised learning and assessment activities and will spend approximately:
2.5 days per week in Ministry Placement - The learner will work in their chosen ministry area (e.g. Church, TAFE, Prison etc.) under a mentor.
1 day per week in the Classroom - The learner will complete bible and ministry training, in a small class environment, at an approved VBC campus/training centre.
The Learner will also be expected to complete some homework tasks each week.
Part time study is allowed with learners completing the qualification over two years. Please contact VBC for further details.
The Advanced Certificate will prepare you for the following sorts of ministry roles:
Chaplain
Assistant Minister or Pastor
Missionary
Preferred Entry Requirements
We prefer our learners to have the following experience/education prior to enrolling in this qualification:
Committed member in their local church
Completed 11238NAT Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology or equivalent
Ministry Placement
To successfully undertake this course learners will need to have access to a suitable workplace where they can perform roles such as:
Leaders and lay assistants in parishes in the areas of ministry and pastoral care
Volunteer or paid pastoral positions
Youth or Sunday School leaders
Women’s or Men’s ministry leaders
This work requirement is necessary so that the learner can fulfil the Ministry Placement requirements of the program.

Cost
This course costs $520 per unit/subject. This includes the set text, learning and assessment guide and handouts provided in class. The total cost for all 10 subjects is $5,200.
